what in the world...

my girls are constantly making me giggle but im not quite sure what to think about this one. For the past few months Emma has been practicing her jump roping skills. Our home is constatnly filled with the sound of her footsteps jumping throughout the house. The other day I was in my room getting ready and could hear the typical sound of Emma's footsteps bouncing throughout the house. A few minutes I found her jumping her little heart out and yet there was something a bit different. In her hands instead of a brightly colored jump rope was one of my bras, yep she was jump roping with my bra. While I've laughed about it numerous times I've wondered what in the world, are my ladies really that big?

halloween 2009

this year we had our annual tradition of going to my brother's house, filling up on chili then off for too may hours of trick or treating. while i am grateful for the bags full of candy that i can eat for months and months after it is always a bit trying when my brother is saying "lets see whose kids can last the longest. and Oh look how much faster my kids are running to the doors" ive learned to deal with the inappropriate competitiveness of the night and was glad this year the whining and crying made us turn in early.
emma deputed as wonder woman-the greatest super hero of all and hailey was a mermaid. i came as a disco diva with a really great afro and casey came as casey. fall is my favorite season of all and its even better with my girls!!!

my moment of fame!

this fall i was in a wedding expo with some great exposure on TV and radio and so i had my 10 seconds of fame on fox 13 with the big Buddha. we did his makeup for the morning show and had ton of fun with it while freezing our buns off at 6am but worth it to see how fabulous i look on tv!!!

fall trip!

every year we go to the blessed california! usually we go in the summer so we can spend most of our quality time at the beach, but this year casey decided we needed to spend the majority of the time at amusement parks. so after two days of good old family driving with fighting, crying and whining we finally arrived at home-in California!!! first day we went to sea world. day two disneyland, day three beach, day four disneyland, day five sea world. while it was fun filled and fabulous it was time to go home by then end. note to self-always fly and more days at beach!!!!

am i really this old?

well this september emma started big kid school as a kindergartner. it was bitter sweet as i realized she was growing up which also meant i am getting older. all in one week my emma entered the big kid world, hailey got her first haircut, i learned about back to school night and joined the PTA-although i vow not to help with a bake off!!!
emma delightedly entered this new stage of life while i drove away and wondered can i really be this old. i still try to be a hip young mom but am realizing time goes by and before you know it your having "the talk" with you kids, they are getting their drivers license and going on dates then off to college and married with their own kids. needless to say the first day of school was a bit more traumatic for me then anyone else in the family.

our fabulously wonderful lake powell trip

what i need to say is that for me there are a few places in the world that i think are heavenly and i have decided to add lake powell to my list. this last week my cute brother invited us to lake powell to play on his boat. it was one of the most fantastic trips we have had as a family and i loved it. hooray for fabulous trips.

Oh my darling Emma

So a few months ago my darling Emma saw me getting in the shower. I noticed as I was getting in that she was drawing but didn't think anything of it, but as I got out she showed off her masterpiece which to my delight was of me naked. Below is a copy of the pictures-one of the front and once of the back. You will note the fine detail as well as its almost perfect likeness to my proportions. Hooray for my little artist.

Ta-dA

Well for a long time now I have had a dream. A dream that someday I would grow up and be a make up artist. That it would be my job to enhance peoples beauty and make them look fabulous but it was always just a dream. Well a few months ago I found some classes which lead to more classes and more classes and now-TaDa i am a make up artist. Yes indeed i have a big box with lots of make up stuff and lots of brushes and I am in heaven. Right now im working on my website etc. and will let you all know how thats going but hooray im making the dream come true. sorry no funny stories just the inspiration to make your dreams come true! amen.

our latest adventure

well we were off for four days of pure relaxation. four days with no diapers, no sippy cups, no winning, yep no kids. now just a little note i haven't been away from hailey for longer than a couple of hours and i have only been away from emma for two days-so it was a bit traumatizing, but i knew it would be good for all of us. so the second day of our adventure was the best day of all. we went snowmobiling-and it was fabulous and fun and all of those words to describe a good time. after we went home had a nap with no children, no sippy cups and no whinning and it was fabulous. THEN...we decided to go to the local hot springs to just relax!!! after getting in our suits we walked out into this amazing sight-there were three natural hot springs lit by dim lights, it was perfectly amazing. so we got in and began to soak and then it happened...we were surrounded by lots of nakedness, yep naked kneecaps, naked arms, and yes naked bums. luckily the lights were so dim that we really couldn't see a lot, but i sure did see a lot of shinny white bottoms. i was a bit uncomfortable, not quite sure if i should close my eyes, turn my head or awe at the free spirits all around me. while i tried to just enjoy the relaxing moment in the wonderful warm water, i couldn't help but be distracted by-not the excess of skin but my inner desire to join the group and get all nude. i guess for now i will just have to have my brief daily naked white bum moments until i am able to fulfill my inner desire to be a skinny dipper!

new year resolutions

So i've decided to post my new year's resolutions so that if i am naughty and you catch me, you are totally allowed to call me on it and then say mean things about my commitment and dedication issues.

1. stop swearing-now i would like to explain that sometimes i believe swearing is appropriate and needs to be used for emphasis, however i will try to refrain from most swear words but occasionally might slip for purely humorous reasons.
2. make my life healthy-this will be tough since i believe chocolate and ice cream should be a part of the four food groups but i will make a strong effort to abstain from the yumminess and just eat lots of wheat germ.
3. be nicer-now i know you all are saying, what you are so nice, but in my head i often see people and want to kick them in the knee caps for the dumbness, and so my resolution to be nicer is purely to try and think of good things rather than kick you in the knee caps things when i see people acting in a dumbness fashion.

and so there they are. my new year resolutions. i will try one hundred percent to be better and know that you will all like me lots better at the end 2010 if i can stick to the plan.
